Applicants who are temporarily authorized to be in the U.S. are required to present documentary proof of legal name, date of birth, social security number, legal presence and proof of principal residence address when applying for an initial or renewal Hawaii State Identification Card. Applicants who are U.S. citizens and aliens admitted for permanent residence status in the U.S. will not need to provide documentary proof of legal name, date of birth, social security number, legal presence and proof of principal residence address until their second renewal.
